Windhoek City Tour

See the sights of Windhoek! Our 2.5 hour Windhoek City Tour gives you a comprehensive look at the capital's history from colonial era to the modern day, as well as taking you to other places of interest.

The Station is an old Cape Dutch style train station dating back to 1912.
The Clock Tower in Independence Avenue is a copy of the original Deutsche Afrikabank clock tower from 1908
Gibeon Meteorite Fountain – 31 of an original 77 meteorites that fell thousands of years ago, on display.
Zoo Park This public park is a focal point of social life. It features the remains of an elephant from between 5 000 and 20 000 years ago.
Christuskirche (1910) – An old Evangelical Lutheran church built in the neo-Romanic style. The names of all German officers, soldiers and settlers who were killed during the colonial wars in Namibia appear on its wall.
Alte Feste Museum (1892) - The once Schulztruppe fortress is now a museum.
Heroes’ Acre – An official war memorial commissioned by the Namibian government. Located in the beautiful Auas mountains overlooking the capital, it boasts a 34m high obelisk, the 8m high ‘Unknown Soldier’, a bronze mural and the ‘Eternal Flame’.
The Old Location – Established in 1912, the Old Location was an area allocated to the local indigenous people, separate from the European colonisers. Residents were forcibly removed in 1959 and 11 people were killed during protests.
